Don't believe us? Just ask the...

It's definitely becoming increasingly difficult to measure the amount of success a company is having in their efforts to reduce carbon emissions. There are so many ways to lighten one's carbon footprint, from using different materials to reducing waste to planting trees to offset carbon production - and so many automakers are taking major steps to help preserve our environment for future generations. But, there is one reliable way to know the impact companies are making: simply calculate the amount they've reduced the carbon emissions of their vehicles.

The European Federation for Transport and Environment (T&E) is using this exact method to determine who the leaders in the auto industry are. And, McLaughlin Volvo is pleased to share...

Volvo Car's "DRIVe Towards Zero" Vision Points to Greener Future

Most car companies have recently been making a strong effort to design and produce vehicles that are better for the environment. With that said, it should be no surprise that Volvo is doing the same. "DRIVe Towards Zero" is Volvo's vision for building vehicles that emit absolutely no harmful exhaust and environmentally-damaging CO2. And, according to a recent press release issued by the automaker, more steps are being taken to attain the noble goal.

"Here at Volvo, we do not feel that there is any single obvious route to sustainable mobility," says Peter Mertens, Senior Vice President, Research…
Electric vehicles that run on a battery seem to be increasing in popularity these days but there is one draw back to them. They have a short driving range compared to their gasoline or diesel powered counterparts is much shorter. In an effort to overcome this dilemma, Volvo is initiating development of a hydrogen fuel cell that is expected to increase electric cars' driving range by up to 155 mi. The Leaf by comparison runs approximately 100 mi. per charge.

In the first phase of the project, Volvo (together with Powercell Sweden AB) will conduct a study into a Range…
