IIHS Names Five Volvo Models "Top Safety Picks"

For years, Volvo has upheld the reputation of building some of the safest vehicles on the road. And this year is no exception, with five new Volvo models named IIHS "Top Safety Picks" for 2012. That's over half of the lineup, and it means that the Volvo S80, Volvo S60, Volvo C30, Volvo XC60 and Volvo XC90 all earned top ratings of "Good" in the front offset, side impact, roof strength and rear-crash safety tests.
What makes these models such prime examples of vehicle safety? Well, all five come with standard side airbags and stability control, just to start. But each model is built with the advanced body-structure techniques and occupant safety features as well as adaptive cruise control, collision warning, pedestrian warning, roll stability control, and anti-lock brakes with Hydraulic Brake Assist and Ready Alert Brakes.
As you can see, Volvo designed the S80, S60, C30, XC60 and XC90 to not only help prevent crashes, but to protect the driver and passengers in case of an accident. No wonder Volvo historically wins safety award on top of safety award every year.
This is just the top of the iceberg - Volvo has infused safety, comfort and technology into every new Volvo in the lineup.
