Volvo Sets Lofty New Goals for 2020

Having been long established as a market leader in vehicle safety, Volvo seems to be ready to add to their core values. The Scandinavian automaker has officially announced their goals to crawl up the luxury-market ladder by the year 2020.

Beginning with a global brand transformation, the new "Designed Around You" tagline clearly supports Volvo's commitment to providing a custom experience to those seeking a luxury vehicle. As Richard Monturo, Global Marketing Chief, Volvo explains,  "[The new campaign] summarizes our approach to understanding people, giving them a luxury experience that is a little more human-oriented..."1

Taking a step into the luxury car market is one of only five aggressive goals the company wants to have under their belt by 2020. Among other things, Volvo wants to reach 800,000 unit sales, increase investment returns, and become a worldwide best employer. With goals like these, we won't be surprised to see a lot of new models coming off the production line in the next few years.
