The Volvo P1800 Hits Two Milestones

One of Volvo's most popular models for decades, the P1800, will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year. The P1800 hit showroom floors in 1961 and remained in production until 1973.

Coinciding with the Volvo P1800's 50th birthday, Irv Gordon, a retired science teacher from New York state, is celebrating turning over 2.9 million miles in his 1966 P1800... Two-point-nine million miles!

The Volvo P1800 Turns 50

The Volvo P1800, which was planned in Sweden, designed in Italy, showed off at the car show in Brussels, constructed in Britain and a very big success in the US, has had auto buyers attention since it hit showroom floors in 1961. The P1800 is perhaps the most internationally beloved Volvo of all time, which is shown by its 50 years of success.
